The 15th Okayama University International Alumni Association General Meeting

The Okayama University International Alumni Association held its 15th General Meeting in a hybrid format on October 31.

The meeting was attended by International Alumni Association President Yanping Guo, along with members from branches around the world. From Okayama University, President Yasutomo Nasu, who serves as an advisor to the association, Vice President Takayoshi Suzuki (in charge of international affairs and alumni relations), and Executive Director Seiji Suga (in charge of academic affairs) were present.

In the opening remarks, President Guo highlighted the achievements of alumni and the activities of various branches, expressing hopes for stronger collaboration between Okayama University and its alumni branches.

Following this, reports were shared by overseas branches, and student staff from the International Alumni Association introduced the activities of the association’s office. Updates on the university’s latest developments were also presented. Alumni from both Japan and abroad joined online, fostering warm and friendly exchanges. Additionally, the newly established Sulawesi Branch in Indonesia, founded in July of this year, formally announced its launch.

Now in its 15th year, the Okayama University International Alumni Association has established 56 branches (including 7 communication hubs) across 28 countries, with a membership exceeding 1,100.

Moving forward, the association aims to further strengthen ties between the university and its alumni, while actively promoting initiatives such as welcoming outstanding international students, facilitating student exchange programs, and encouraging faculty and staff exchanges through its global network.
