🎓 Meet the alumni #2: Rose from South Africa

✨ Rose is a graduate of the Global Discovery Program, Class of 2023, at Okayama University!

🌱 During her time at Okayama University, Rose founded @tinaorganization608, an NGO dedicated to empowering young girls in her hometown village in South Africa. Through workshops on entrepreneurship, health, sex education, scholarship opportunities and teenage pregnancy prevention, Rose is trying to create changes in her community.

 

🔥 Her journey didn’t stop at lectures—she also joined the @unleashlab in India for young changemaker training and proudly represented Okayama University at @oneyoungworld conference in the UK.

 

📚 After graduation, Rose works as a lecturer at an all-girls university in Somaliland—a region where many girls have grown up without access to education due to decades of conflict.

 

💫 In the future, she hopes to work in communities where girls’ rights are often suppressed, expanding her organization to uplift and amplify the voices of young women facing cultural, environmental or religious barriers.
